Mr. Tommie Lee Friday, Sr.

Tommie Lee Friday, Sr. was born on August 11, 1928, in Jefferson, Texas. He was born to the union of Charlie and June Essie Friday.

He met and later married Gladys Rose in 1946, to this union eight children were born: Tommie, Jr., John W., Donald, Berry, Mary, Rawlisa, Theresa, Emma. He was also the father to Denesia, Calvin, and Barbara.
Tommie attended school at Judea in Jefferson, Texas. He was employed by Lone Star Ammunition Plant in Texarkana. TX. Later, he worked for the county driving the road maintainer for several years. He was bestowed the honor of having “3410 Tap Friday Rd” named in his honor. Tommie would serve his country by joining the United States Army and was veteran of World War II.

He is preceded in death by both parents, his Wife: Gladys; two Sons: John and Berry Friday; his Brothers: Sam and Joe Fridie; and his Sisters: Mayola Reed, Emma B. Rose, and Cora Fridie.
