
Larry Joe McDaniel
Beloved Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend
Larry Joe McDaniel was born on June 22, 1957, at the Louisiana State University Hospital in Shreveport,
Louisiana. He was the youngest of nine children born to the late Curtis McDaniel Sr. and Maudie McIntosh-
McDaniel. On Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the age of 67, Larry Joe peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
At an early age, Larry confessed his belief in Christ, was baptized, and became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Jefferson, Texas, his family's church. He attended Smithland Elementary/Junior High School in Smithland, Texas. He graduated from the Jefferson High School class of 1975.
After graduation he joined the U.S. National Guard Armed Services. Upon returning from National Guard duty, Larry worked at Lone Star Steel Co., in Lone Star, Texas. He later moved to Dallas, Texas and worked there in various roles for ARCO Oil & Gas, Trinity Industries, Sweetheart Cup Factory, and later at Manheim Auto Auction Corporation.
Larry enjoyed playing pool, had a passion for cars, liked going to musical concerts (Frankie Beverly and Maze was his favorite musical group). He spent time with his nieces and nephews giving them encouragement and brightening up their days through telling jokes (laughter) and singing.
He is preceded in death by his Parents; his Brothers: Jimmy L. McDaniel, James McDaniel, and Curtis G. McDaniel Jr.; Niece: LaKeisha McDaniel; Nephew: Brandon McDaniel; and Brother-in-law: Donald Trimble.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories: Daughter: Katarra Douglas; Sister: Cheryl A. McDaniel-Trimble (husband was Donald), Four Brothers: Thomas E. McDaniel (Patricia), Milton E. McDaniel (Postene), Bonnie Ray McDaniel (Jackie), Kenneth A. McDaniel; Two Sisters-in-law: Claudine McDaniel (husband was James) and Joyce McDaniel (husband was Curtis Jr.), and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins and friends.
