Rev. Charlie Anthony Robinson

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. ~2 Timothy 4:7-8

Charlie Anthony Robinson was born July 28, 1960, youngest of seven children born to Rev. Shelton and Rovella Robinson. He was introduced to Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. A.L. Owens at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Varnado, LA.—where Dr. Linza Rae Cotton currently pastors.

Charlie was a graduate of Varnado High School’s class of 1980. At Varnado High School he was a student athlete and all district champion and served on the student council for four years. Charlie lived in Texas for most of his life. He served as a senior service technician at CenterPoint Energy for over 30 years. He joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church of Houston, TX in 1983 and faithfully served in numerous capacities. He was ordained into the Gospel ministry by the late Pastor C.G. Wilkins and became a Senior Associate Minister of Pilgrim Rest in 1997 and Interim Pastor from 2000 – 2002. Charlie was loving to all and was known for his sense of humor.

Charlie Robinson was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Shelton Robinson and Rovella Lewis Thompson, Elnora Robinson and Sylvester Thompson, brother Felton Robinson, maternal grandparents Armelia Moses and Martee Lewis and paternal grandparents Charlie and Rebecca Robinson.
