Ms. Yvette Marie Claverie
Beloved Mother Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt
Yvette Marie Claverie, affectionately know as “Vette”, was born on June 4, 1959, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Shirley Anderson and Louis Claverie, Jr. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greater Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. Yvette later earned her GED and received her nursing certification. She also dedicated 10 years to Pasta International as a cook.
In 2005, Yvette relocated to Houston due to Hurricane Katrina. Here, she became a member of Bethel’s Family under Pastor August and would gain employment with HISD Public School system as a cook, eventually retiring in 2023.
Yvette was a woman of resilience, unwavering strength, and deep love for her family. She was known as the anchor of their family, a joyful presence, and a jack of all trades. Her unmatched heart, purpose-driven life, and sense of humor has left lasting impact on everyone she met. She had a heart of gold and smiled through every obstacle. Her beautiful smile lit up the room when she walked in.
On April 2, 2025, Yvette went home to be with Lord. She was preceded in heavenly homegoing by her Parents and her son, Donald Claverie.
