Ms. Moriah "Roxie" Beard

Ms. Moriah "Roxie" Beard

Beloved Sister, Aunt, and Friend

Moriah (Roxie) Beard was born on April 17, 1973, in Galveston Texas, to Otha Dean Beard and Eddie Mae (Chapman) Beard. She was the 3rd child in this union.

Roxie grew up in Galveston, San Antonio, and Houston before reaching maturity. She attended Lee College in Baytown, Tx. She worked at the well-known Astroworld, before landing an accounting position with Waste Management in Houston, where she worked almost 30 years.

Moriah was always the best mom to her fur baby - Rocky - and knew his every trait, ailment, and quirk.

Roxie enjoyed shopping and creating new food dishes along with tasty drinks. She also liked watching the Food Network, the Hallmark Channel, and funny YouTube videos. Moriah was known by her friends and family for her 'Happy Birthday" messages that she would sing to them on their birthdays. Her powerful voice is attributed to her many years of singing in church choirs.

In more recent years, Moriah became introverted and withdrawn. The combination of the Covid pandemic / chaos plus a traumatic auto accident left her with a vulnerable spirit. The cancer diagnosis was the last of the traumas.

Roxie will always remain in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched.

Moriah is preceded in death by both her father and mother, plus an older brother, Rory Dean Beard.
