Sister Gerrilynn Faith Thomas was born December 15, 1960, to the union of Eldora Washington Thomas and Eddie Thomas Sr. She accepted Christ at a young age joining the membership of Faith Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Mack E. Crayton which later became Faith Hope Christian Fellowship under the leadership of Bishop B. K. Stevens.
She had a heart for serving and loved her community. Her organizations and affiliations included: Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Former Matron of Prince Hall Affiliation ladies Auxiliary, Heroines of Jericho, Commissioner for State of Louisiana Election Commission, Volunteer for United Way of Acadiana VITA Program, Board Member of Iberia Comprehensive Community Clinic, and National Association of University Women. She also hosted and coordinated the first 2022 Annual Juneteenth Pageant of the Vermilion Parish NAACP Branch in Abbeville, LA.
She was proceeded in death by her Parents: Eldora Washington Thomas and Eddie Thomas, Sr.; Brothers: Anthony Roy Green, Eddie Thomas Jr.; Sister-in-law: Deborah Jean Harris-Emmerson of New Orleans, LA, and Nephew: Jimmy Emerson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories One Daughter: Sharioka Sherea Phills of Youngsville, LA, One Son: Jayiris Rochon Maze of El Paso, TX; Brother: Jimmy Frank Emerson of New Orleans, LA; Sister-in-law: Gay Ann Green of Abbeville, LA; Two Granddaughters: Symphonie Senae Phills and Teigan Dior Bessard of Youngsville, LA; Cousin and Partner in Fun: Kimalynn Williams of Lafayette, LA, along with a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives friends and her loving dog “Spirit Jean”.
