Mrs. OrGretta "Gretta" Y. Wilson

Beloved Daughter, Mother, Sister, and Friend

OrGretta Yolande Wilson, lovingly known as Gretta, was born on November 18th, 1959 in Houston, TX. She peacefully passed away on May 29th, 2024, at the age of 64, at 12:32 PM.

Gretta grew up in Houston and cherished her childhood memories in the city. She was blessed with two sons, DaeKintae Wilson and Chris Wilson, during her young adult years. Later, she welcomed her daughter, Tiara Miller, into her loving family. Gretta's adventurous spirit led her to live in various exciting places across the United States. She dedicated over a decade of her life to working with the State of Texas Health and Human Services Department. However, her true passion lay in helping children with special education needs and behavioral assistance, which she pursued in her later years. Gretta's commitment to education was evident as she obtained both a bachelor's and master's degree.

Gretta cherished heartfelt conversations with loved ones and found joy in watching shows, going on spontaneous trips, and actively participating in her church community. Her legacy will be remembered through her emphasis on cancer screening and health, tireless advocacy for students' education and support, and her belief in pursuing one's purpose and passions. She made a significant impact in her church's media ministry, passionately learning about media and generously sharing her knowledge with others.

Gretta is survived by her beloved her Son: DaeKinte K. Wilson; her Daughter: Tiara D. Miller and Son-in-law: Joshua E. Miller; her three cherished Grandchildren: Kelsi Wilson, Christopher Wilson Jr., and Iris Miller; her Mother: Emery L. Payne; her Sister: Willita Payne; her Aunt: Regina East. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins who held a special place in her heart.

As we bid farewell to Gretta, let us carry her legacy of unwavering faith in Jesus, fearless pursuit of dreams, and kind spirit in our hearts. May her memory continue to inspire us all. In honor of Gretta's vibrant spirit, attendees are kindly requested to wear bright colors.
