Mrs. Marie Edwards

Marie Whiting Edwards was born to the late Taylor and Alberta Whiting on April 7, 1931 in the Piney Point Community of Houston, Texas.

She received her formal education at Piney Point Elementary and would graduate from Jack Yates Senior High School.

Marie confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.

Later in life, she would meet and later marry the love of her life, Mr. Nathaniel Edwards on March 14, 1952 and were united for 68 years until his passing in 2020.

She was employed as a Domestic Engineer for the Walker family for over 60 years before retiring.

Marie heard the call of her name by the Master, and she went home to be with him early in the morning of November 15, 2022.
She is preceded in death by her Parents: Taylor & Alberta Whiting; her Husband: Nathaniel Edwards; and a host of siblings: Erma McMiller, John Henry, Walter Lee, Terry, Jessie Lee, Thomas, and Albert Whiting.

She is survived by Three Siblings: Taylor Whiting, Jr. (Sally), Elizabeth Sloan, and Alice Whiting; Although she never had any children of her own, she had a host of nieces and nephews that she cherished: Mary, Linda Faye, Debra, Ruby, Jackie, Loniesta, Monica, Sheila, Pamela, Beverly Jean, Roy, Albert, John, Jr., Darryl, Craig, Marcus, Tom, and Carlos. Her Godson: Anthony Horton; She also has a host of Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, and other relatives and friends that loved her.
