
Mrs. Bertha Mae Stredic
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend
On August 27, 1949, Bertha Mae Johnson Mack Stredic was born to Leon and Leona Johnson of Texas. From this union, she had additional siblings. She attended Charlie Brown Intermediate School of
West Columbia, TX. Later in life, she was brought into Arthur Mack and Herma Patterson family. After their passing, she went to live with her older sister, Betty J. Winston and her family. She attended and later graduated from Jack Yates High School. She attended Houston Community College,
where she studied to be a Respiratory Therapist and obtained her certification.
She accepted Christ as her savoir at an early age. Later, she united with Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and attended for 20 years under the leadership of the late Reverend Willie Powell. As a member of Lilly Grove, she participated in numerous auxiliaries.
She married and was widowed by Cleveland Stredic. From that union, Vincent Stredic was born. Through her journey in life she was permanently employed by Diagnostic Center Hospital as a certified respiratory therapist, until the Houston Methodist Hospital bought it and she transferred over and remained there until she retired in 2018.
Through Rev. Fred Winston, Jr, she sought out spiritual guidance at East Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for 30 years under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Ronald K. Mouton, Sr., and later the Reverend John Mouton. She was involved in a lot of church auxiliaries and boards.
Bertha loved traveling, traveling with her church, cooking, and spending time with family& friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings: Fred Harris, Betty Winston, Joyce Grant, Mary Jones, and Michael Johnson.
