Mrs. Ann Gay Scott Norsworthy

On Saturday, April 11, 1936, Ann Gay Norsworthy was born to Joseph Gay, Sr., and Josephine Gay, in Loving Canady, Texas, which was later incorporated into Houston, Texas.

Ann accepted Christ at an early age and was educated in the Houston Independent School District. She graduated from Jack Yates High School in 1953.

She and Mrs. Haywood were responsible for the yearly reunion at River Oaks Park of all Loving Canady residents and descendants.

Ann’s skills included “party serving”, domestic work, and being a healthcare provider. Ann was a lady known for her kind heart, warm smile, and generous spirit. She was deeply loved by her loved ones, neighbors, and friends. Her presence brought joy to all who knew her.

Ann is preceded in death by her Parents: Joseph Gay, Sr. and Josephine O. Gay; three Sisters: Eloise Gay, Doris Whiteside, and Francis “Hazel” Gay; four Brothers: Albert Brooks, Earl Gay, Marion Gay, Sr., and Joseph Gay, Jr.; one Daughter: Gwendolyn J. Gay; and, one Son: Fulton L. Gay.
