Mr. Victor Dematrius Roberson
Beloved Father, Brother, and Friend
The journey of life has taken us through transition, much like the seasons of the year. We appreciate the miracle of birth, the freedom of childhood, the time to realize adulthood dreams and the joy of living a fulfilled life at peace with ourselves and our creator. At this point, we understand the journey.
Victor Dematrius Roberson was born on June 11, 1967, in Houston, TX to Rollen and Shirley Roberson. With the guidance of his parents, he accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age.
Victor received his education here in the H.I.S.D school district gracing the halls of James Madison Sr. High School, where he graduated. While in school (and after), he was deemed as one of the greatest basketball players during his time. In his words, “He was better than Jordan”. He even had the opportunity to play in a huge basketball tournament in Las Vegas that would have led to trials for the U. S. Olympics.
Victor was a proud native of Almeda Plaza, “A.P.T.” as he would proudly say. Here and to many others, he was known as “Slick Vic” and he most definitely lived up to this name. The basketball court in Almeda Plaza was his domain, where he was considered a Legend. He loved Almeda Plaza and the people in it. Here, the natives showed him much respect and love and he lived his life returning the same.
Victor not only was proud of where he was from, but he was also a proud father, uncle, brother, and son; he loved his family with everything in him. He will always be remembered as being charismatic, he had a charm like no other; a protector, he was there when anyone needed him, a true warrior. He was kind, big hearted and there wasn’t a drop of fear in him. He’ll forever be a Legend, the baby brother, the cool/favorite uncle, and father who was proud of all his children.
On July 20, 2023, God made his call to Victor to let him know that his job here on Earth was well done, as his battle was over. He was welcomed with open arms by both of his parents, Rollen and Shirley Roberson, his sisters: Canasta Roberson-King, Yvenette Roberson-Chambers, and brother: Ronald Roberson.
