Mr. James Edward Harris, Jr.
Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather
James Harris, affectionately known as "Rabbit," was born on February 10, 1981, in Houston, Texas, and left us too soon on December 20, 2024. He was the cherished son of Diana R. Harris and James E. Dixon, and he made his mark as a beloved figure in the Houston community, particularly from his roots in
Third Ward.
If you had the pleasure of knowing James, you would recognize him as a master salesman—his charisma was so compelling that he could sell you the very shoes off your own feet. But above all, James was a devoted family man and a loving father. His charm and smooth talk often found him in humorous negotiations with his children, leaving them laughing and shaking their heads at his antics.
James was not just a salesman, he was a brilliant storyteller and a source of joy for everyone he encountered. While he could deliver a lecture when needed, he always balanced it with laughter and warmth, making him a joy to be around. His heart was as big as his personality, and he faced life's challenges with grace and positivity.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents and his sister, Gwendolyn L. Dixon.
