Mr. Eric Duwan Adams

Beloved Son, Brother, Cousin, and Friend

Eric Duwan Adams was born on July 6, 1991, in Houston, Texas, to his loving mother, Angela Adams. Affectionately known as “Tookie” by those who knew and loved him, Eric was the fifth of six children.

Eric began his education in Houston, attending Nathaniel Q. Henderson Elementary, and continued his studies at Best Elementary, Chancellor Elementary, and Youngblood Elementary in Alief, as well as Black Middle School. He attended Waltrip High School and Aldine Westfield High School before graduating from Fort Bend Hightower High School. During his high school years, Eric distinguished himself as a talented varsity football wide receiver.

At an early age, Eric accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, under the leadership of the late Pastor Fred C. Holliday.

Following his graduation, Eric relocated to Timpson, Texas, where he met his longtime companion, Shambrica Page, with whom he shared a devoted relationship until his passing. Eric had a love for travel and lived for a time in Oklahoma before returning to Texas and settling in Odessa. Throughout his life, he held various positions, including employment at Whataburger in Timpson, Jason’s Deli in Odessa, McDonald’s and 7-Eleven in Houston, and most recently served as a caregiver at Assurance J. Homecare Services for his mother. Demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit, Eric founded his own business, Royalty Luxury, specializing in custom fashion design, and worked toward building his own music studio. He had a deep passion for music, enjoyed playing video games, and was an avid supporter of LeBron James (NBA) and Shedeur Sanders (NFL).

Eric was preceded in death by his Great-Grandfather: Frank Clifton Adams; Great-Grandmother: Mary Carrington Adams; Great-Great-Uncle: David Carrington (“D.C.”); Grandmother: Wanda Kay Adams Nobles; Aunt, Tameka Nobles; and his beloved oldest Brother and best friend: Terrance Adams (“TeeTee”), whom he missed dearly.

Eric loved his family deeply and endeavored to be a devoted son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend to all whose lives he touched. His presence will be profoundly missed, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
