Mr. Edgar Edison Fordham, Jr.
Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend
Edgar Edison Fordham, Jr., affectionately known as “Junior,” “Fast Eddie,” or Headache” was born December 19,1955 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the youngest child of Ora Lee and Edgar Fordham, who preceded him in death along with sisters
Gwendolyn Alexander and Mary Winn.
Edgar professed his faith in Jesus Christ at a young age and was baptized at Tanner Chapel AME Church in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended grammar school in Phoenix before the family moved to Houston, Texas in 1963. Edgar attended Hartman Middle School where he became active in athletics and Sterling High School until 10th grade.
His last two years of high school were spent at Bogalusa High School in Louisiana, where his track career flourished, under the encouragement of Coach Gary McGee. Edgar received a full track scholarship to Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he was initiated into the Beta Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Edgar possessed that indomitable entrepreneur spirit. One of his earliest ventures were Smokestack Barbecue Restaurant and the Dazz Club beginning in Opelousas,
Louisiana. He then became a vendor supplying Walmart across several states with his ACT 3 essential oil product line and this before Walmart was a household name around the world.
Another notable accomplishment, Edgar started a restaurant named “Little Leroy’s,” in the New Orleans metropolitan service area that was featured in “Jet Magazine” for having the world’s largest hamburger.
An avid salesman who discovered a love for the import/export business, Edgar relocated to Vietnam where he advised U.S. companies how to procure and conduct business in Vietnam.
