Mr. Daryl Ursin

Mr. Daryl Winston Ursin was born on December 7, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the proud parents of Mr. Winston J. Ursin and Mrs. Almetta Ursin.

While residing in his home state, Daryl attended Booker T. Washington School and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he served as an Altar Boy.

At the age of 16, Daryl and his immediate family relocated to Houston, Texas in August of 1968. Upon relocating to Houston, Daryl would then continue his education at Robert E. Lee High School for which he was a graduate and would also be the place he met his soulmate, Ms. Linda McCoy whom he later married in May 20, 1977.

Duly noted, Daryl would continue his Walk with Christ at New Elijah Missionary Baptist Church of Houston, TX where he was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Albert Kelly. Daryl would later join and become a member of Abundant Harvest Church under the leadership of Pastor Harold Marshall, also of Houston, TX.

Daryl was employed over 15-years as a truck-driver for Texas Industries, Inc., Houston, Texas where he was responsible for delivering Redi-Mix Cement to various companies in the Houston Metropolitan Area. Daryl retired from Texas, Industries, Inc., in 2011.

After retirement, Daryl enjoyed family life, sporting events and traveling around the world with his (Boo-Linda). Daryl especially enjoyed a life of barbecuing and dining on all kinds of food. (Daryl just loved to eat).

One of Daryl’s most important desires in this life was for his family and extended family to be as one and love one another. 3 John 1:4 – I have no greater joy than to hear my children are walking in truth. NIV

On Monday, November 21, 2022, @ 2:20 A.M., God knocked on the door of Daryl’s Spirt and told him it was time to come home to his final resting place. Waiting in heaven to welcome him home were his Parents: Mr. Winston J. Ursin and Mrs. Almetta Ursin; His Brother: Mr. Royal Ursin and wife Mrs. Eloise Ursin. What a reunion.

Mr. Daryl Winston Ursin leaves to cherish and honor his memory: His wife and soulmate: Mrs. Linda K. Ursin; (2) Sons: Quinton L. Ursin & Herman Smith; (1) Daughter: Nichol (Nikki) Ursin (Tamicka Jackson); (6) Grandchildren: Giovanni Merritt, Sierra Ursin, Brandi Hodge, James Smith, Leiah Jackson and LeRoy Jackson; (4) Great-grandchildren: Weslyn Cockerham, Sincere Wardlow, Seven Wardlow and Ariah Jackson; (2) Sisters: Julia Williams (Charles) and Verlene Robinson (James); (1) Brother: Demetris Ursin; (1) Aunt: Ruby Stewart. He also leaves a wealth of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and loving caring friends.
