
Mr. Clarence Alvin Jones
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend
Clarence Alvin Jones was born on March 3, 1953, in Liberty, Texas, to Bernitha Jones (Hardy) and Walter Jones. He was the third of eleven children. In his teenage years, Clarence and his younger siblings moved in with their aunt, Verda Mae Davis, and her husband, Horna Lee Davis. Clarence attended church at Greater New Mt. Pleasant Church under the leadership of Pastor Tatum and graduated from Forest Brook High School in 1973. Shortly after, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Following his military service, Clarence pursued a career in the transportation and logistics field, which spanned over 40 years. In 1975, he met Sharon McWilliams, and they married in 1983. Together, they raised five children.
Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing dominoes, cooking, and spending time with his thirteen grandchildren. He was known for his sense of humor, generosity, and deep love for his family and friends. In 1999, Clarence began attending New Day Deliverance Holiness Church under the leadership of Apostle Richard R. Taylor, where he faithfully served until his passing.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bernitha Jones, and two sisters, Sherry Robertson and Patricia Jones.
