Mr. Carl Darrell Hunter

Carl Darrell Hunter was born on July 13, 1957, in Oak Ridge, Louisiana, to the late Basil Hunter Sr. and Mollie Hunter. He graduated from Delta High School in Mer Rouge, Louisiana, in 1975 and continued his education at Mary Holmes College in West Point, Mississippi, where he studied Computer Science before embarking on a successful career in Information Technology and Network Support spanning more than three decades.

Throughout his professional career, Carl worked for numerous organizations throughout the Houston area, including JPMorgan Chase, MD Anderson Cancer Center, the City of Houston, Harris County, Amazon, ExxonMobil, Lamar CISD, and several other companies. He was respected for his technical knowledge, professionalism, dedication, and strong work ethic.

Carl accepted Christ and faithfully attended The Fort Bend Church, where he proudly served in the Greeters Ministry, welcoming others with kindness and a warm smile.

Those who knew Carl knew he valued taking care of himself. He enjoyed working out, staying active, maintaining his physique, and making thoughtful choices about his health and nutrition. He appreciated good food and took pride in presenting himself well. Carl was also known for being an organized and detail-oriented individual who liked to stay prepared and keep things in order. His honesty, quiet confidence, and unique personality left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him.

On June 4, 2026, Carl entered eternal rest following a courageous battle with bladder cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil Hunter Sr. and Mollie Hunter; his daughter, Tamika Renae Williams; and his siblings Sadie Hunter Nichols, Basil Hunter Jr., Mollie Hunter Sampson, Emily Hunter Dunn, Rosie Mae Hunter, Edna Lee Hunter, Georgia Hunter Watley, Richard Hunter, Harry Hunter, and Jennifer Hunter.
