Mr. Alvin Jerome Adams
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather
Alvin Jerome “AJ” Adams, Sr., affectionately known as “Uncle Ronnie,” was born on June 30, 1951, to Allen Adams, Sr. and Edna Adams. After the remarriage of his mother, Alvin was blessed to be lovingly raised and guided by his mother, Edna Oates, and Sidney Oates, his father figure. Sidney and Alvin shared special father-and-son moments through Boy Scout trips, cookouts, and cherished time spent together.
Alvin was educated in the North Forest School District. He graduated from B.C. Elmore High School, where he played varsity football. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged, after 12 years of service. He continued his love of football while serving in the Air Force. During his time in the military, he received several medals, including recognition for his service during the Vietnam War.
Alvin accepted Christ at an early age and attended Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church in Settegast. He later served as a Deacon at Household of Faith Community Church for many years. He continued his faithful and active service as a member of McGee Chapel Baptist Church, where he shared his gift of music by playing the bass guitar.
Those who truly knew Alvin knew how deeply he loved music. He enjoyed playing bass guitar with the Sensual Elements Band, and loved dancing with the Senior Space City Dance Team. Alvin also had a caring heart for children and was passionate about their well-being, guidance, and growth.
Alvin Adams passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, leaving behind cherished memories, a legacy of love, and the joyful spirit he shared with all who knew him.
Alvin was preceded in death by his Mother: Edna Oates; Father Figure: Sidney Oates; Father: Allen Adams, Sr; and Brother: Allen Adams, Jr.
