Lillie Mae Connor Bell

Lillie Day Connor-Bell, age 77, of Houston, Texas, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 14, 2026. Born on October 19, 1948, in Hempstead, Texas, to Vernon Day, Sr. and LeeAda Day. Lillie was a woman of faith, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She attended M.R. Woods High School and later moved to Houston, where she built a life filled with hard work, devotion, and cherished relationships.

In 1975, Lillie married John Connor, and they shared many loving years together until his passing. Later, she married John Bell. Throughout her life, she remained devoted to her family and those she loved.

Lillie began her working career in housekeeping with HCA, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She later joined the staff at St. Joseph Hospital, continuing her commitment to caring for others. After her time at St. Joseph Hospital, she worked as a bus driver for the Houston Independent School District (HISD), faithfully serving the children and families of her community. She later returned to the medical field and worked at Spring Branch Hospital until 2003, when she suffered a stroke and retired.

A faithful member of Joy Missionary Baptist Church, Lillie loved attending church and living her faith through kindness, compassion, and service to others. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, watching television, and spending precious time with family and friends. Whether preparing meals for loved ones or gathering with family and friends, she found joy in caring for others and creating lasting memories.

Lillie was known for her feisty personality, which was truly one of a kind. She spoke her mind, stood her ground, and brought energy and laughter wherever she went. Her strength, determination, and spirited nature made her unforgettable to everyone who knew her. Whether sharing advice, telling a story, or simply spending time with loved ones, Lillie had a way of making people smile. Her family and friends will forever cherish the joy, humor, and authenticity she brought into their lives.

Lillie was preceded in death by her Mother: LeeAda Day; her Father: Vernon Day, Sr.; her Sister: Juanita Day; her Brothers: Benny Day and Vernon Day, Jr.; her Husbands: John Connor and John Bell; her Daughters: Vickie Hurd and Juanita Day; her Son: Lacey Connor; and her Nephew: Lawrence Cruise.
